Jr. High & High School Sunday School
Sunday School begins each Sunday at 9am and concludes at 10am. All students 6th – 8th grade are invited to join the Jr. High group and all students 9th – 12th grade are invited to join the High School group. Both groups meet in the downstairs of the main building.
Jr. High Sunday School
Jr. High Sunday School begins with fun and games as the kids arrive. They can shoot baskets, sit and chat or engage in any other game around the room. Once all arrive we have a time of worship and prayer after which our lesson begins. Hot Chocolate, various drinks and always a snack are available.
Our current study revolves around the INCREDIBLES movie. We have found that each of us is a Super Hero with a Super Power. As our memory verse this quarter states…These gifts were given to us to serve and strengthen the Body of Christ. We watch scenes from the movie and connect it to God’s Word and how it applies to our lives.
Coming up next is a study about some unknown characters of the Bible and a short study on angels in December. We’ll also be packing Finals Bags for the College students connected to our church and enjoy a Sunday Morning Breakfast.
High School Sunday School
The High School group is all about diving deep into the Scriptures and discovering how God’s Word applies to our lives. Our meetings are discussion based as we address current topics and issues, big life questions as well as experiences our students face on a daily basis and what the Bible says about these things.
Currently the High School group is using a video series from RightNow Media by Dr. Sean McDowell. “Examine Biblical Evidence” is the 4th part of a 4 part study in apologetics. This section addresses questions such as: “Could there be actual evidence for the person of Jesus, His miracles, the biblical testimony about Him, and even the resurrection?” Discover what we can know about Jesus and the historical evidence behind His death and resurrection, and also answer the question, “Is the Bible, as the source for the majority of this information, a reliable and trustworthy historical account?” This resource is just one part of a 32-week study and is designed to challenge you in your faith and to consider what it means to hold firm to biblical convictions and still engage in humble dialogue with the culture around us.
